As September begins, I wanted to reflect on one of the greatest things in our rural communities the county fair. I hope you all had a chance to go frequently to one or more county fairs and if possible your state fair. Remember (if you didn't do it this year its ok!!), take your urban friends too - introduce them to where their food is raised and how we begin training the youngest and newest generation of "Food Producers" in the 4-H and FFA programs that are one of the pillars of our success in Agriculture.
Below you will see that I did make it to a county fair with my good friend and former neighbor David Deao. We made it to the fair just in time to watch the Miami County (Ohio) "Born and Raised" competition. A great time! Make time for it next year if you didn't get the opportunity this year.
